The Value of a Life Coach

Working with a life coach can bring value to every aspect of your life. I have 100% confidence that this process will allow you to realize the outcomes that now you only dream of, and I can say this because my life today is an example of the truly transformative impact of coaching.

My mom is fond of telling people how I was one of those toddlers that would ask the question ‘why?’ all day long. But unlike many children, this perhaps annoying characteristic has remained my most significant trait. Today, as a mother to two grown women, I have to offer my mom kudos for her patience and nurturing of my constant curiosity.

This trait of curiosity has served me well, in academic, professional and personal pursuits. My engagement with life coaching is another way in which I explore the why’s, how’s and who’s in my life that encourages me to continue growing.

When I began to really understand how my life was built upon what I believed about myself and my world, I came to the beginning of an empowered way of being in the world. And when I further understood how my emotions offer me information about my state of being, and that this information is there for me to explore and consider and then choose my response – well then, everything changed.

Through life coaching and the pursuit of why – why this reaction? Why this decision? Why this challenge? Why this result? – I came to understand that the answer is actually who do I want to be in this moment? Where is my attention and intention?

There is a direct line from an emotional experience to behaviour to the reality of a life, and the key element at the beginning of that line is the thought/belief behind and within the emotion. The thought and/or belief – because a belief is always held in a collection of thoughts – drives the response/reaction which will drive behaviour which creates the very shape of life.

Uncovering these drivers, understanding them, and then deciding on the action/response – this is where coaching works, in that space of deciding what we want to focus on and how that serves our life.

This is not to say that we only ever need work on our thoughts. We also need to take action through our behaviours to cause the life we want. However, everything begins with thoughts. Our thoughts that are based in our experiences to date, and our thoughts that are striving to move us ahead into our next experiences.

It also means that it is our response, our emotions, that alert us to our thoughts. And it is within this system of alerts that we can bring our focus to explore what we want more or less of, how we want to experience our moments. For example we can uncover the thought “I’m so nervous” when we notice our hands or voice shake and we can reframe that thought to “I’m so excited”. This allows us to acknowledge and honour our emotional response AND shape our thoughts into a positive light that supports us instead of undermines us.

Managing our minds changes everything.

Let me, as your life coach give you the tools and guidance that can lead you up to and through the transformation that managing your mind can create.

You can do it. I can help.
